Articles & Events

Britain on the Couch
This article shows something of the range of issues which can prompt people to seek therapy.

It is often the case that the concerns we keep to ourselves are in fact not unusual. Therapy offers an opportunity to explore such issues and develop ways to understand them better. The article puts some of these issues in context, and gives a helpful account of the particular difficulties these can cause.

Psychotherapy: Is it Science, Religion or a Waste of Time?
Many people feel uncertain about entering into a therapy which doesn't readily offer tangible measures of success - often an unusual experience in our current cultural climate. In this short article, psychoanalyst Adam Phillips considers the importance of scientific evidence alongside psychotherapy's more less tangible measures of success.
